Dave started his boat building career at age 22, when he launched into his first big project: A total re-build of his Cal 25 sailboat. Working alone, he completely removed the cockpit, the companionway and the entire interior. He strengthened and modified each aspect of the boat including the keel, stringers, floor frames, rig, sails, electrical and pluming; making it into a sturdy ocean-going vessel which he immediately used for his circumnavigation.
